Sixth Grade Self Portraits

Sixth graders in Jennifer Giachetta's Art classes at Stokes and Joy Elementary created beautiful self-portraits! For these self-portraits, sixth-graders posed for a photo shoot during class.

During this multi-step project, they traced their photo onto transparency paper, which created a contour drawing of themselves. Then on the back of their self-portraits with select colors, they painted their hair, eyes, mouth, and clothing. On a separate piece of paper, they painted a background using different colors than before and then carefully glued everything together.

"I am very proud of how these came out, they did a wonderful job!" said Art Teacher Jennifer Giachetta.
